Is industrial injuries benefit treated as income?

A full breakdown of how the industrial injuries benefit is made up is required.

Most industrial injuries benefit income is taken into account as income in full for means-testing. However, those elements which mirror Disability Living Allowance and/or Attendance Allowance are ignored in full.

These are:

  • Constant Attendance Allowance,
  • Exceptionally Severe Disablement Allowance, and
  • Severe Disablement Occupational Allowance.
